Scoring rules
Classic and tournaments use different scoring systems
Classic leagues use FPL-style integer scoring on your starting XI, including defensive contribution bonuses, captain multipliers, chips, and automatic substitutions.

|---|---|
| For playing up to 60 minutes | 1 |
| For playing 60 minutes or more (excluding stoppage time) | 2 |
| For each goal scored by a goalkeeper | 10 |
| For each goal scored by a defender | 6 |
| For each goal scored by a midfielder | 5 |

| For each goal assist | 3 |
| For a clean sheet by a goalkeeper or defender | 4 |
| For a clean sheet by a midfielder | 1 |
| For every 3 shot saves by a goalkeeper | 1 |
| Defensive contribution: 10+ CBI and tackles in a single match (defenders) | 2 |
| Defensive contribution: 12+ CBI, tackles and recoveries in a single match (midfielders & forwards) | 2 |
| For each penalty save | 5 |
| For each penalty miss | -2 |
| Bonus points for the best players in a match | 1-3 |
| For every 2 goals conceded by a goalkeeper or defender | -1 |

Defensive contributions
- Defensive contribution points reward outfield players who make significant defensive work without a goal or assist.
- Defenders earn 2 points for reaching 10+ combined clearances, blocks, interceptions (CBI) and tackles in a single match.
- Midfielders and forwards earn 2 points for reaching 12+ combined CBI, tackles and recoveries in a single match.
- Defensive contribution points do not stack — reaching 20 actions in one match still earns only 2 points.
- In a double gameweek, a player can earn 2 points per match in which they hit the threshold.
Clean sheets
- A clean sheet requires not conceding while on the pitch and playing at least 60 minutes (excluding stoppage time).
- If a player is substituted before a goal is conceded, their clean sheet bonus is not affected.
- In a double gameweek, each eligible clean sheet is scored separately.
Bonus points (BPS)
- The Bonus Points System (BPS) uses Opta statistics to rank every player's performance in each match.
- The top three BPS performers in a match receive 3, 2 and 1 bonus points respectively.
- Tie for 1st: players 1 & 2 get 3 points each, player 3 gets 1 point.
- Tie for 2nd: player 1 gets 3 points, players 2 & 3 get 2 points each.
- Tie for 3rd: player 1 gets 3, player 2 gets 2, players 3 & 4 get 1 point each.
- BPS data is supplied by Opta and will not change after the gameweek is marked final.

Red cards
- If a player receives a red card, they continue to be penalised for goals conceded by their team (−1 per 2 goals for goalkeepers and defenders).
- Red card deductions include any points deducted for yellow cards (e.g. a second yellow is −3 in total, not −4).
Assists — general rule
- An assist is awarded to the attacking player who makes the final touch directly before the goal.
- This can be a pass, a touch (including an inadvertent touch), or a shot.
- Assists can also be awarded for own goals, where the goalscoring action is made by a defending player.
- Tackles and interceptions can count as passes when the touch is deemed intended for a teammate.
- A touch off the woodwork does not count as a defensive touch.
Assists from passes
- Awarded when the pass goes directly to the goalscorer.
- Awarded when the goalscorer receives the ball inside the penalty area after no more than one defensive touch (intended recipient does not matter).
- Awarded when the goalscorer receives the ball outside the penalty area after one defensive touch, if the pass was intended for them.
- Not awarded when the pass takes two or more defensive touches before reaching the goalscorer.
- Not awarded when the goalscorer receives the ball outside the area after one defensive touch but the pass was not intended for them.
- Not awarded when the defensive touch is classified as a pass, or when the goalscorer loses and regains possession before scoring.
- An inadvertent attacking touch only earns an assist if it goes directly to the goalscorer.
Assists from shots and rebounds
- Awarded when a goal directly follows a save, block, or rebound off the woodwork — the action must not be an obvious cross or pass attempt.
- A shot does not have to be on target to earn an assist; deflections before a save/block/rebound do not cancel the assist if the shot remains on target.
- Not awarded when a defensive touch follows the save, block, or rebound before the goal.
- Not awarded when the goalscorer converts their own rebound after their attempt is saved, blocked, or hits the woodwork.
Assists from own goals
- Own goals follow the assist rules above, with the own-goal scorer treated as the goalscorer.
- The touch from the own-goal scorer does not count as a defensive touch.
- No assist when a pass takes two or more defensive touches before the own-goal action, or when the own-goal action or a prior defensive touch is classified as a pass.
- A shot-rebound assist can apply if the own goal directly follows a save, block, or woodwork rebound (with no defensive touch in between).
Assists from penalties and free-kicks
- Awarded to the player fouled, or who has the final touch before a handball offence, when the penalty or direct free-kick is scored.
- The attacking player's pass or touch must directly lead to the handball; a deflection before handball does not cancel an assist if the shot remains on target.
- Not awarded when the player who won the set piece scores themselves.
- Not awarded when the pass/touch does not directly lead to the handball, or a deflection takes the ball off target before the handball.
Corners, throw-ins and finalisation
- No assists are awarded for winning a corner or throw-in that leads directly to a goal.
- Assist decisions are reviewed by Opta and can be revised during and after matches.
- Final assist decisions are made by the official data provider in consultation with Opta.
- In-game gameweek points may change until 9am UK time on the day after the final match of the gameweek.
- Once points are finalised, no further adjustments are made unless under extraordinary circumstances.
